  7. Dravecky won national sympathy in 1989 by defeating his doctors'
  8. predictions that he would never pitch again and hurling a
  9. victory against the Cincinnati Reds. But five days later, his
  10. pitching arm snapped and he collapsed on the mound during a game
  11. in Montreal.
